
A new Cleopatra boat was recently delivered to Lyme Regis in Dorset on the south coast of England.
Skipper Brett Newton from Beer is the owner of the boat.
The boat has been named Maverick III. Maverick III is a Cleopatra 33.
The main engine is an FPT C90 connected to a ZF 286IV gearbox.
Navigation equipment comes from Simrad/Hondex. The boat has an Olex plotter software fitted.
The boat is fitted with a hydraulically driven bow thruster connected to the boat’s autopilot.
Maverick III is fitted for pottering/creeling for brown crab, whelks and lobster. She can easily haul 700 pots per day using the Cleopatra style self hauling/self shooting system.
The fish hold is designed to hold standard fish boxes so it is easy to keep the catch alive on board.
The boat’s safety equipment is from Viking.
There is space for upto 12 x 380liter fish bins in the hold. Hydraulically operated Landing derrick is fitted.
The accommodation has bunks for three as well as cooking facilities with a stove, microwave and refrigerator.
According to the owner the boat will be operated from Lyme Regis all year round, and she expected to start fishing shortly.
